Kimberly began playing the violin in 1980. A
year later she began studying privately with
Thomas Downs, a retired member of the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra. While at Grand
Valley State University pursuing a violin
performance bachelor degree, she studied
with Diane McElfish of the Grand Rapids
Symphony.
Kimberly performed with the Grand Valley
Symphony Orchestra and Grand Valley
Chamber Orchestra as concertmaster and
soloist; she was also a member of the West
Shore Symphony during her college years.
Since 1996, she has been performing with the
Macomb Symphony Orchestra and teaching
privately.
